Help Plan City College’s Future

City College of San Francisco’s Chancellor, Dr. Arthur Tyler, has initiated a comprehensive education master planning process and has asked for your input. “At this time, it is important to establish a unified direction for the College, and a comprehensive education master plan is critical,” said Dr. Tyler.

The education master planning process will utilize data and will include input from internal and external audiences, with a full draft to be published on May 1, 2014.

Every citizen of San Francisco is being asked to participate and give input to help ensure that the plan will reflect the needs of a broad cross-section of the city. Parents, business owners, educators, retailers, retirees, anyone and everyone is asked to join in and share their individual ideas. A combination of small group sessions and larger public forums to be held at each of the College’s centers throughout San Francisco are planned for the week of March 10. These sessions build upon previous sessions held in January and February. March events occur at multiple locations to allow planners to hear from a broad range of constituents. For details see

CCSF is also asking citizens from San Francisco and the Bay Area to respond to a brief online survey to provide input on the direction of the College. The survey can be found online at: “SOAR” stands for Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results. Responses will be collected through mid-March. Once compiled, results will be posted to the education master planning webpage ( It is hoped that as concerned citizens, you will choose to share your honest input.
