The Teacher’s Resource Center Library is a resource room primarily serving the noncredit ESL and Transitional studies faculty. It is designed to facilitate and enhance professional productivity and innovation. The staff here is prepared to assist faculty in an array of subjects and tasks and provide referrals to other sources of information and expertise when necessary.
We have most of the latest ESL and Adult Basic Education textbooks, a large collection of books on teaching theory and techniques, and supplemental materials including dictionaries, kits, audio CDs and cassettes, DVDs and videocassettes. Updated lists of the audio and video materials will be available soon.
TRC Library privileges are extended to faculty and staff of City College of San Francisco.
The loan period for circulating materials is from date of checkout until the end of the current semester. (Materials can also be checked out for the next semester at the end of the current semester.)
Materials can be requested by phone or email as well as in person, and can be sent to center mailboxes via interoffice mail.
Materials can also be renewed by phone or email, and can be returned to the TRC Library via interoffice mail as well as in person.
The TRC Library also makes available a noncredit ESL book list, listing books that have been evaluated by faculty to coincide with CCSF noncredit ESL curriculum levels. This list is in the process of being updated. The most recent version is the 2018 Noncredit Booklist.
Staff can also look up prices and ISBN numbers for books and supplemental materials. A current list of publisher’s representatives’ contact information can be found here.
