Adult, Child, & Infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

This class provides adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to the lay rescuer who responds to cardiac emergencies in the community setting. Class content consists of the chain of survival, early recognition, and management of a victim with a heart attack, rescue breathing, one-rescuer CPR, and relief of airway obstruction. An American Heart Association Adult Heartsaver CPR card, valid for two years, is awarded to those who qualify. Students must be on time for class and attend the entire workshop.

First Aid

This class provides first aid training to the lay rescuer. Learn how to identify and care for victims of common traumatic, medical, and environmental emergencies in the community setting. Instruction includes the performance of a secondary survey and the activation of the emergency medical services system. A City College of San Francisco First Aid card, valid for two years, is awarded to those who qualify. Students must be on time for class and attend the entire workshop.

Bring a small stamped, self-addressed envelope to class to receive a CPR or First Aid card.

Pre-registration is required; class size is limited. This class is free for San Francisco DHS staff, SF group home staff, SF foster family agency staff & clients, and for foster parents. Bring a stamped, self-addressed envelope to receive a CPR or First Aid card.

To withdraw: Email fcstrain@ccsf.edu at least three business days before the class date. Registered students who do not show up for a class must wait 120 days before registering for another Title IV-E CPR or First Aid class. In addition, agencies will be charged $25 for each no-show student. Another staff member may replace the registered student if necessary.
