The study of weather and climate, tectonic processes, and landforms. Emphasis on the interpretation of weather maps, climatic data, aerial photographs, and topographic maps.
C-ID GEOG 111; C-ID GEOG 115 (GEOG 1 + GEOG 1L)
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Appraise and interpret the features and characteristics of maps used in physical geography studies.
- Outcome 2: Analyze and interpret weather phenomena from climate data, weather satellite imagery, and weather maps.
- Outcome 3: Differentiate and interpret geomorphic features shown on U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps and remote-sensed imagery.
- Outcome 4: Collect and evaluate geographic data using instruments and field observation.
