Second semester course. Continuation of elementary grammar, composition and reading; continued practice in speaking and understanding French. Introduction to Francophone cultures.
Requires an additional 1 hour.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Understand and respond to spoken French at an intermediate level and understand an authentic recorded or live conversation in a studied topic.
- Outcome 2: Express their opinions and feelings using the subjunctive, narrate and describe in a more sophisticated manner using various tenses and moods, and to master the mechanics of the French language seen in class.
- Outcome 3: Comprehend short stories with intermediate vocabulary, compose brief essays and argumentations incorporating intermediate vocabulary and grammar, and express their opinion in a clear and legible manner that supports their viewpoints.
- Outcome 4: Discuss the geography as well as the history of various Francophone countries and regions as presented in the course.
