Beginning High 3 students develop and expand their knowledge of beginning level English skills, emphasizing oral communication. Students learn to comprehend spoken English in familiar contexts. They communicate about basic needs and routine activities, plus survival skills and personal topics. They participate in basic conversations about routine social situations.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Identify words and phrases in familiar contexts using visual clues and previously learned material
- Outcome 2: Produce appropriate responses to spoken English from learned topics and familiar contexts
- Outcome 3: Demonstrate ability to speak English about basic needs and routine activities in simple conversations
