ESLB 4821 Introduction to Computers for ESL-Intermediate
ADVISE: Completion of ESLN 3400
(Beginning High 4)
A short introductory course in computer skills for intermediate level ESL students. Computer terminology related to word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications are introduced. Intermediate reading and writing skills are used to create and edit a few documents, worksheets and data reports, using simple software.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Identify computer components and use basic computer terminology.
- Outcome 2: Demonstrate the ability to search for ESL level appropriate information using the Internet.
- Outcome 3: Use computer-assisted language learning software to practice language skills
- Outcome 4: Produce appropriately written notes and memos using e-mail.
