ESLA 3565 Strategies for Success in Credit ESL
ADVISE: Completion of ESLN 3400
(Beginning Low 4)
Intermediate non-credit ESL students will develop the writing and composition skills needed for composition assignments in credit ESL classes. Academic level listening strategies and note-taking skills will prepare students for academic oral participation and presentations. Students will learn in-class test-taking strategies.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Compose simple non-narrative essays and compositions.
- Outcome 2: Summarize short authentic articles or other readings.
- Outcome 3: Formulate and express opinions and ideas in classroom discussions based on readings and/or lectures.
- Outcome 4: Demonstrate successful academic in-class test taking.
