ESL 122 Low-Intermediate Listening/Speaking (3)

PREREQ.: Placement in ESL 122 or completion of ESL 112
Pre-academic listening and speaking skills and strategies. Oral communication activities and oral presentations with vocabulary and grammatical structures appropriate to the low-intermediate level.
Intended to be taken together with an academic reading/ writing course such as ESL 110
or 120, depending on the reading / writing placement
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Identify and recall main ideas and important details when listening to spoken English at a low-intermediate level.
- Outcome 2: Produce comprehensible spoken language in academic discussions and presentations on topics at a low-intermediate level.
- Outcome 3: Use academic learning strategies for the development of listening and speaking skills appropriate to a low intermediate level.
