The second portion of EMT theory and skills provides the knowledge and skills required to manage emergencies in the prehospital setting. Emphasis on the assessment and management of various medical and traumatic emergencies.
Offered Spring semesters
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Apply scene information and patient assessment findings to guide emergency management and transport decisions.
- Outcome 2: Differentiate between the assessment, management, and transport decisions for various medical and trauma emergencies in patients of varying age groups.
- Outcome 3: Explain the role and responsibilities of the EMT during a multiple casualty incident.
