The dental health team, ethics/jurisprudence HIPAA, history of dentistry, home care instruction including whitening, applied psychology, communication skills; verbal and written (telephone/fax/computer) communication, the special patient, appointment control, recall systems and the administrative assistant, use of Dentrix software for office functions. Lab Fee is required.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Recognize the role of the administrative dental assistant in providing optimum patient care.
- Outcome 2: Demonstrate the role of an assistant as a plaque control educator and community servant.
- Outcome 3: Apply a professional code of ethics and adhere to state and federal laws, recommendations, and regulations in the management of patient care.
