DENT 54 Applied Dental Science II (2)

Experiences are provided to review the student's knowledge of microbiology, disease transmission, and altering resistance to infection. Preventive dentistry, nutrition and application of the skills necessary for a preventive therapist are provided. Oral pathological conditions, the use of drugs, and dental therapeutics related to dental office emergencies are discussed.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Implement appropriate protocols related to medical/dental emergencies.
- Outcome 2: Differentiate between health and disease in the management of the diverse dental patient utilizing concepts from oral pathology and nutrition.
