DANC 150B Intermediate Swing Dance (1)

Develops intermediate skills in the popular American social dance forms known as Swing. The main emphasis will be on intermediate step patterns for East Coast Swing, and/or West Coast Swing and/or Lindy Hop.
Offered Fall semesters
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Demonstrate and perform intermediate steps from one or all of the following swing dances: East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and/or West Coast Swing.
- Outcome 2: Identify and perform syncopated variations of the basic dance stcps
- Outcome 3: Demonstrate intermediate leading and following techniques, notably the concepts of frame, connection and momentum
- Outcome 4: Demonstrate elementary improvisation steps during performance of a 24-count phrase.
