International Folk Dance provides a foundation for the study of dance. Folk dance offers experience in varied rhythms, formations, dance structures and movement vocabularies. Partner and non-partner dances from various countries and cultures are included.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Perform accurate sequences for 10-15 beginning level international folk dances.
- Outcome 2: Identify country or region, musical selection and correct formation for specific dances.
- Outcome 3: Demonstrate beginning level steps and patterns.
- Outcome 4: Apply general safety and dance etiquette guidelines to folk dance practice.
