DANC 107A Folk Dance Production (1)
Credit, Degree Applicable
Students will have the opportunity to learn and perform intermediate-advanced level folk dance choreographies in 3-5 on and off campus venues each semester in traditional style costumes.
Offered Fall semesters
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Perform staged versions of international folk dances with correct style and technique
- Outcome 2: Demonstrate correct dance rhythms and phrasing as well as performance discipline and responsibility.
- Outcome 3: Analyze choreographics in terms of impact, dynamics, and programming, with an understanding of theatrical disciplines such as costuming and lighting
- Outcome 4: Identify differences between traditional forms and styles and staged versions of dance material
