Introduction to the interpreted language Perl. Recommended for anyone working with files and text. Semantics and syntax of the Perl language, including Object Oriented Perl. Discussion on the practical kinds of problems that Perl can solve. Students write stand-alone programs that perform various tasks, including text and file manipulation.
