PREREQ.: Completion/concurrent enrollment in CINE 24
Intensive practice in basic narrative filmmaking. Emphasis on planning, filming and editing scenes for dramatic effect. The history of narrative continuity systems is explored.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Evaluate the roll of editing for dramatic effect in narrative.
- Outcome 2: Demonstrate command of continuity editing in making a short film.
- Outcome 3: Identify and describe rules of continuity in critiquing a short film.
- Outcome 4: Define basic motion picture editing vocabulary.
