Examination of standardized environmental rating scales for early care and education programs. Provides knowledge and skills necessary for administering and interpreting the ECERS-R and ITERS-R rating scales for development of high quality care.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Analyze the rationale of the "Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised (ECERS-R) and the "Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale-Revised" (ITERS-R).
- Outcome 2: Analyze the components of the ECERS-R and ITERS-R rating scales.
- Outcome 3: Employ the ECERS-R and ITERS-R as a self-study instrument and assessment tool to evaluate and transform practice and engage in reflective action.
