An exploration of the developmental sequence of early mathematical concepts and their application in the family child care setting. Selection of materials, the development of activities and games to foster math learning and the practice of using teachable moments during daily routine and play experiences.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Examine the development of math leaming in the first five years of childhood.
- Outcome 2: Select materials, literature and activities that support early math concepts.
- Outcome 3: Assess teaching strategies that utilize children's interest in making order and finding patterns during the daily routines and play activities in family child care.
- Outcome 4: Evaluate the caregiver's own change in competence and confidence in math experience.
