Introduction to the developmental patterns from the prenatal to toddler years for family child care providers; enhance skills in caring for young children in a home care setting.

After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Differentiate changes in physical/sensory-motor, social-emotional, and cognitive/language development through each stage of the first three years.
- Outcome 2: Explain the secure attachment relationship as the foundation of all developments in the first three years of a young child's life.
- Outcome 3: Apply appropriate practices in the family child care home environment.
