Teachers in ECE, K-12 and youth-serving programs attend seminars on emerging trends and issues related to improving program quality, understanding child development, specific curricular content, advocacy and community resources in the SF Bay Area, assessment and planning and teaching and learning.
Offered on occasion
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Facilitate positive interactions between student teachers and children, staff and parents.
- Outcome 2: Demonstrate enhanced leadership, communication, mentoring and advocacy skills in the classroom.
- Outcome 3: Articulate current public policy issues related to the provision of quality services to children and their families and the role of the teacher
- Outcome 4: Translate anti-bias and culturally sensitive theory into teaching practice.
