After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

- Outcome 1: Formulate methods to solve algebraic equations involving trigonometric, quadratic, exponential, and logarithmic functions.
- Outcome 2: Analyze word problems that might arise from real situations and synthesize algebraic equations that lead to solutions. Solve the equations, and evaluate the correctness or validity of the numerical result.
- Outcome 3: Find the roots of a quadratic equations by factoring, the quadratic formula, and by graphing. Analyze the roots of quadric equations arising from real situations and determine which of them are solutions that make sense.
- Outcome 4: Set up, evaluate, appraise, and solve systems of linear simultaneous equations from a set of given situations. Compare and criticize the various methods of solution.
- Outcome 5: Set up and solve equations from problems that require use of trigonometric functions, tangent, sine, and cosine and the Pythagorean Theorem. Identify and sketch graphs of these functions. Appraise the advantages and disadvantages of graphical techniques for solution.
- Outcome 6: Set up and solve exponential and logarithmic equations. Identify and sketch graphs of these functions.
- Outcome 7: In each of the above areas, the student will be able to defend his or her answers and evaluate their validity.
