Introduction to genomics and the tools, techniques and databases used in bioinformatics. Topics include molecular biology, genome sequence acquisition, online databases and software used in biotechnology. Hands-on practice includes web programs for aligning sequences, comparing DNA or protein sequences, retrieving genomic and clinical data.Emphasis is on online bioinformatics databases.
