An introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Revit Architecture software. Automation of building design and documentation process, interface and command access, coordination of data, and views for annotations and printing. No previous CAD experience required.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Evaluate the benefits of BIM, and apply three dimensional parametric building design tools to create various views and data loaded schedules.
- Outcome 2: Design and create digital models using the fundamental features of Revit Architecture.
- Outcome 3: Create and print a set of construction drawings of a small residential and/or commercial building from a three dimensional model.
- Outcome 4: Evaluate the interoperability of BIM software with other software.
