An introduction to the Autodesk AutoCAD software. The course starts from the basic understanding of the software interface to two dimensional line drawings and three dimensional solid modeling with an architectural emphasis. Included are the use of collaborative drawing using XREF and management of a drawing using a layering system.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Recognize the AutoCAD interface in executing commands and creating new drawings.
- Outcome 2: Create, construct, modify and compose two and three dimensional architectural drawings and models using the standards and conventions of architectural graphic representations.
- Outcome 3: Analyze an AutoCAD layering system and apply it to differentiate various drawing or model elements.
- Outcome 4: Synthesize separate AutoCAD drawings and models using external references in the combination and collaboration of drawings
