Design, setup, and implementation of an accounting system in a microcomputer environment while following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Topics include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, financial statement analysis, and the comparison, analysis, and use of microcomputer accounting software systems.
After successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Outcome 1: Design, setup, and implement a computerized accounting system.
- Outcome 2: Utilize the proper transaction cycles and procedures in a computerized accounting system
- Outcome 3: Generate financial statements, accounting reports, and payroll documents using a computerized accounting system.
