1. Donations at CCSF vs Santa Rosa Junior College Football Game – October 21

 

This Saturday, CCSF will accept donations in lieu of admission fees at the 1:00pm CCSF vs Santa Rosa Junior College football game. 100% of donations will go towards the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Relief Fund.

2. African American Scholastic Programs Office See’s Candy Fundraiser


Support the CCSF African American Scholastic Programs office as they sell See’s Candy to raise money for their scholarship program and their Historically Black College and University event later this year. 


To make a purchase, please print out the attached form and bring to the Rosenberg Library, LAC, Room R209.  We accept cash or check.  If you have any questions, please contact the program office at 415-452-5315.



3. Chef’s Table Closure Dates – October 23 & 24


Thank you to everyone who attended the Fall Buffet at the Ocean Campus - once again, a very successful event.

4. Call for faculty and staff to be photographed for the Free City Advertising Campaign - October 23

 

Call for faculty and staff interested in being featured in the upcoming Spring Semester Free City advertising campaign.

5. Small Business Entrepreneurship Panel - October 25


What: Small Business Entrepreneurship Panel

When: Wednesday, October 25th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm

Where: MUB 251, Ocean Campus

 

Description: Five successful entrepreneurs will be sharing their stories about how they started their own business and made it profitable. They will also provide insights about the challenges they faced and what they’ve learned.

 

The panelists are:

1.       Lawrence Brucia, Founder of Marin Food Specialties

2.       Mitchell Hardin, Jr., CEO & President of Hi-Lite Enterprises, Inc.

3.       Corey Rennell, Founder of CORE Foods

4.       Richard Shiu, Photographer, Pet Product Manufacturer and Realtor

5.       Trish Tracey, Chef/Owner of Myriad Gastropub

6. UndocuAlly Training for all Faculty and Staff – October 27

 

Do you want to know how to support undocumented students?


In this training, Nancy Jodaitis of Educators for Fair Consideration (http://e4fc.org) will provide an overview of AB 540, AB 2000, the CA Dream Act, and DACA.  We will discuss the choices and challenges that DACA students (and their families) are facing and learn about the assistance available to immigrant students.  Come learn more about what you can do to connect students to the resources they need.

7. Mo Equity Mo Money: Student Equity Professional Development Workshops - October 26, November 1 & 6

 

Are you planning to attend a Mo Equity Mo Money: Student Equity Professional Development Workshop? 


We want to take this time to introduce our Equity Team and help departments and programs prepare as you begin writing proposals for your Program Review Annual Plans.  We will provide participants with an opportunity to learn and engage in student equity initiatives to support our efforts in reducing opportunity gaps and improving student success outcomes at City College of San Francisco. 

 

The workshop will be offered on:
Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m, Ocean Campus, MUB 330 
Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m, Ocean Campus, MUB 230

Monday, November 6, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Mission Center, Room 109

8. $2,500 Scholarships for Asian American & Pacific Islander Students! - Apply by November 2

 

Multiple awards of $2,500 each will be given to CCSF students (21 received this award in 2016!) by the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF). Please encourage students to apply by Nov 2, 2017 (2 p.m., PDT).

APIASF has once again partnered with CCSF (8th year!) through the Asian & Pacific American Student Success (APASS) program. Based in Washington D.C., APIASF is the nation's largest provider of college scholarships for AAPI students. CCSF is a federally designated Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) and this scholarship is available annually to students attending one of 28 (and growing) APIASF AANAPISI partner colleges.

9. Employment & Education Recruitment Fair - November 7

 

Announcing the first annual Employment & Education Recruitment Fair, designed to:


  • Provide immediate job placement for Home Care Providers at the San Francisco In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority (Public Authority), and Homebridge
  • Offer career advancement training through City College of San Francisco (CCSF) programs:

o   English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to prepare workers for better jobs

o   Vocational ESL (VESL) classes specific to the home care profession

o    A new “Intro to Healthcare” program launching in Spring 2018


WHEN: Tuesday, November 7 - There will be two identical sessions: 12:00pm-2:00pm and 4:00pm-6:00pm.


WHERE: City College’s Civic Center campus at 1170 Market Street
