1. Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” – April 21, 22, and 23

CCSF Theatre Arts & Music departments present Cole Porter’s show based on the book by P.G. Wodehouse, et al. Direction & Choreography by Deborah Shaw, Musical Direction by Michael Shahani.

2. CCSF Salsa Party, Part of Bay Area Dance Week - April 22

Held every semester for over 20 years, the CCSF Salsa Party provides a casual and inclusive opportunity for the CCSF community to enjoy Salsa and other Latin Dances for the afternoon. From 2:00pm - 2:30pm there will be an Absolute Beginners lesson, as well as an Intermediate lesson. Join us in celebrating the first Saturday of Bay Area Dance Week, which runs from April 21 - April 30, 2017.


3. Music Department Faculty Concert - April 25

City College Music Department Faculty will perform the works of composers ranging from Schubert & Ravel to Harold Arlen, Luis Bonfa & Astor Piazzola and even modern electronic music. Instrumentation includes Madeline Mueller on piano, Larry Ferrara & Lenny Carlson on guitar, Dr. Harry Bernstein on flute, Charlie McCarthy on flute and saxophone, doctors Michael Shahani and Lee Strawn singing and Matthew Creer performing electronic music creations.


4. Ballroom Dance Party - April 29

Saturday, April 29
7:00pm - 10:30pm
Wellness Center 301
 
Come and learn the international rumba by taking lessons from 7:00pm to 8:00pm, and then dance the night away to all the ballroom dances until 10:30pm. The party will take place in room 301 of the Wellness Center. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.


5. The Blossom International Folk Dance Festival, Part of Bay Area Dance Week - April 30

The Blossom International Folk Dance Festival has taken place at CCSF for the last 35 years, sponsored by the California Folk Dance Federation and CCSF PE and Dance! The event begins with “Dances for All Ages” from 12:30pm 1:30pm. This workshop is designed for beginning dancers of all ages and will be taught by the mother-daughter team of CCSF Faculty Jeanne-Marie Hughes, Ph.D., and Sophia Hosmer-Hughes. Please bring your friends and family! From 1:30pm 5:00pm there will be open folk dancing to music from across the globe. Join us in celebrating the last day of Bay Area Dance Week, which runs from April 21 April 30, 2017.


6. Culinary and Hospitality Job Fair - May 3

The Culinary and Hospitality Job fair will be open to all students on campus. Participants include hotels, restaurant, catering, staffing and other hospitality related companies. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.


7. CCSF Low-Tech Dance Performance - May 13

Experience the Dance Community at CCSF! The CCSF Low-Tech Dance Performance has been hosted by CCSF PE and Dance Faculty Jeanne-Marie Hughes for over 25 years. This popular and energizing informal showing of works by the CCSF community shares a diverse array of dance and dancers. Please join us at this family friendly event.


8. A Collective Inquiry into Guided Pathways - May 18

Guided Pathways have enabled greater student success at other colleges, but how might they help us? What exactly are other colleges doing, and would these efforts meet the needs of students here at CCSF? Come explore these questions and more as the Career and Transfer Pathways Committee presents guest speakers Robert Gabriner (RP Group), and Mina Dadgar, Kris Palmer, and Chase Fisherhall (Career Ladders Project)

  • Learn about how pathways help students complete their educational goals
  • Learn about how pathways help colleges increase student success and completion
  • Discuss how various models might fit at CCSF 
  • Define priorities for Guided Pathway development at CCSF
