1. Film Screening: Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic - Tuesday, January 24

From Paula Cahill, Department Chair Student Health Services:

CCSF Student Health Services is supporting a movie screening event at Hastings Law School, Someone You Love: the HPV Epidemic. This is a documentary about Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), a virus that can progress to cancer. We are participating to encourage vaccination and cancer prevention. Please post the attached flier, encourage students to attend, and consider attending yourself. Join us in this important health prevention initiative and attend the event on Tuesday, 1/24/17.

For information or consultation with CCSF nurse practitioners regarding vaccines, contact Student Health Services at 415-239-3110.

2. Start the New Year with Great Certificate Programs at CCSF Mission

Don't miss the chance to enroll in the certificate programs offered at the CCSF mission campus! Enrollment starts today and goes through the end of January. Please see the attached flyers for additional information.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Kate Ryan at kryan@ccsf.edu or 415-920-6010.

3. Middle Eastern Studies: Courses and Events

From Kinneret Israel:

To Critical Middle East / South West Asia and North Africa Supporters:

We are writing to call your attention to two wonderful courses focusing on the Middle East, in larger context, being offered this Spring:

Political Science 45: Team-taught by Roni Abusaad and Kinneret Israel and
Interdisciplinary Studies 31: Women in the Middle East: Team-taugt by Kinneret Israel and Ameena Jandali

Both courses are UC/CSU transferable, meet CCSF GE requirements, and satisfy core requirements for a certificate in Critical Middle East/SWANA studies. In addition theses courses will host an amazing speaker series (see attached flyer).

We need one or two more students to enroll in these classes by Thursday to keep them open, and to preserve  this opportunity for education and discussion, diversity, and social justice. Please let your students know.

Also, check out the exciting events that will be accompanying the program this semester. I look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for your time and attention!
