1. Free Bilingual 6-Week Food Preparation and Production Training - November 7
 
 

Join the City College of San Francisco and the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development for a 6-week food preparation and production training, taught by a Chinese bilingual instructor. Work with a wide range of western cooking techniques, learn effective station set-up, learn how to hone your knife skills, and learn and practice kitchen terminology.

The course begins November 7 and ends December 15. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.


2. On-Campus Recruitment Event - Over 25 Employers Attending - November 8


The Career Development Center will be hosting an on-campus recruitment event on Tuesday, November 8 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm in the Multi-Use Building, Room 140. Over 25 employers will be in attendance and looking to hire CCSF students for part-time and full-time positions in various industries. (See the event flyer and employer list with description of roles attached).

3. Rhythms of the Everyday: Tehran's Bra Shop and Homosociality - November 8


Please consider joining us to welcome PhD candidate Tahereh Afghasdar as she shares her research on same gender relations within the site of the bra shop in Tehran. The presentation will include social, political, and economic contextualizing. Let your students know, offer extra credit, and bring your class if the time coincides! See the attached flyer for details.

4. CCSF's Creative Writing Program Presents: Novelist and Oral Historian Peter Orner - November 10


Please join us on Thursday, November 10th at 11:00 am in MUB 140 to hear Novelist and Oral Historian Peter Orner read from recent works and discuss fiction writing and oral history research. He is a Creative Writing Professor at San Francisco State University and has published two novels, “Love and Shame”, and “The Second Coming of Malava Shikongo,” collections of short stories, and two collections of oral histories. He has won many prizes, including the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Pen Hemingway Prize. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.



5. "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" - November 11 through November 20

The CCSF Theatre & Music Departments are presenting “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at the Diego Rivera Theatre on the Ocean Campus:

Fri Nov 11 & 18 at 8pm
Sat Nov 12 & 19 at 8pm
Sun Nov 13 & 20 at 2pm
$15 general admission
$10 Students, Seniors

6. Spanish Film Festival - November 16 and December 7


The CCSF Spanish Department invites you to attend this year's Spanish Film Festival. Come to the Rosenberg Library to see the remaining two films - Como Agua Para Chocolate and Madeinusa - each of which will include English subtitles. Please see the attached flyer for a description of each film as well as specific dates and times for each showing.
