4. Domestic Violence Awareness Month - Upcoming Events

Project SURVIVE, the Sexual Health Education and Sexual Violence Prevention program of City College of San Francisco’s Women’s Studies Department, is sponsoring multiple events to commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October 2016. Our aim is to raise awareness of this pervasive problem: on average, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the U.S. (NISVS data). Although anyone can be a victim of domestic violence, women are disproportionately affected. One in four women is the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetime (NISVS data).

Please see the attached flyers for upcoming events.

5. Changes are coming to Food and Beverage vending machines near you!

Below are the upcoming changes to the vending machines on the CCSF campuses:

Ocean Campus:
  • Cafeteria beverage machines: being replaced Oct. 18 with healthier options and moved to new locations (not in the window).
  • Batmale: beverage machines will be upgraded Oct. 18. There will be some downtime associated with the moves.
  • North side of campus: seeking areas to add vending machines for improved service
Airport and Southeast Campuses:
  • Break rooms being surveyed next week to determine what new snack machines can be installed. Thank you to Torrance and Carolyn for your input.
Evans Campus
  • Coffee machine being upgraded, along with more frequent service
Please welcome the technicians from Pepsi and Canteen on site next week.
