5. Teach the CCSF Art Guide to your Students: Do you want to jazz up your curriculum for summer or next fall with a topic that will get your students to take their eyes off their cell phones and look around the campus? Teach a unit on the great art we have at City College, from the WPA art of the 1940 GGIE on Treasure Island (Diego Rivera Mural, Volz murals on exterior of Science, Olmsted murals in Science central staircase, the Busts of Edison and da Vinci on Cloud Plaza, and the Ram) to the etched glass facades and the Scholar Rock at the new CHNB Center and El Futura, the Mission Center Mural. This project can work in many disciplines, not just Art and English or ESL I have the last box of the CCSF ART GUIDE, which was published by the Works of Art Comm. in 2006, plus info on later artworks. Ask for a class set of 30 or if you just want a copy for yourself. Send
requests to parack@ccsf.edu. Once this box is gone, there will be no more guides available. Submitted by Paticia Arack.
