1. Sad News: Alliene Lawson, who worked within CCSF for 35 years in Financial Aid, EOPS, then retired as a student services department chair, recently died. Her daugheter, Cindy Elahi, would like to let her mother's colleagues know about her funeral service this coming Friday, 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City. The quiet hour will be at the same location, Thursday, September 25th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Notes can be sent to Cindy at her home address: 1000 National Ave., San Bruno, CA  94066,. 2. Full scholarships to study in Korea for Spring 2015: CCSF students are eligible to apply for full scholarships to study in Korea for the Spring 2015 semester at the Soonchunhyang University. Coordinated through the California Colleges for International Education (CCIE), the scholarship includes tuition, airfare (limited), room and weekly living expenses. 4. Cooking Demonstration: Chef Keith Hammerich will be holding a cooking demonstration this Saturday at the CUESA kitchen, under a white tent in front of the S.F. Ferry Building at 11:00 AM. 5. Portola Garden Tour 2014 this Saturday: Love Gardens? Love Gardening? Would you like a little inspiration? 7. $2,500 Scholarships for Asian American & Pacific Islander Students:  Multiple awards of $2,500 each will be given to CCSF students by the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF).  Please encourage students to apply by Oct. 15, 2014 (6 p.m. local time).  Contact APASS at 452-5620 or visit Batmale 208 if you have any questions. Application:  www.apiasf.org/aanapisi.html  There are 10 workshops with tips on how to complete this application! 8. CCSF 28th Annual College Fair: This popular event will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, from 9:00 – 1:00 pm at the Smith Hall Cafeteria on the Ocean Campus. Representatives from 40+ colleges and universities will be in attendance.  Students can learn first-hand information about majors,  transfer requirements, the admission process, and more!
