1. Library Tech Assistant Leader: Miguel Magos, Library Technical Assistant in the Rosenberg Library Circulation Department, was recently elected Member-At-Large and 2015 Conference Liaison to the Library Support Staff Information Roundtable (LSSIRT) at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Las Vegas.  Mr Magos will also serve as the Vice-President/President-Elect beginning at the ALA Annual Conference to be held here in San Francisco in June of 2015.  His service, a three year appointment, will include a year in the position as President and a year as Past-President during the next four years to the Association.

Mr. Magos has over twenty years of library experience & service, coming to CCSF from the Daly City Public Library six years ago.  He attended the ALA Conference to share information on the CCSF Libraries, as well as bring back the newest information in the library field.  Mr Magos also reported on the CCSF Library Information Technology Program's innovative approach to meeting Core Competencies and Standards for Support Staff Certification by the Allied Professional Association and American Library Association. Submitted by Chris Kox.

2. All-in-one day for new students: As before, CCSF is offering an all-day event to facilitate new student enrollment. This Saturday, July 12th, Conlan Hall room 101, from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This event encompasses assessment testing, college orientation, meeting with a counselor and registering. It is a GREAT opportunity to get necessary planning and advisement in one place! RSVPs are required, so if you know someone who is thinking about coming to City College, have them call 415-239-3124 to reserve their place at this event.
