What will I learn in this program?

The Pharmacy Technician Certificate program prepares students to work as technicians in pharmacies utilizing automation and math ability for safe medical dosages. Emphasis will be on optimum patient clinical outcome and customer services. This 684 hour, two semester course consists of didactic and practical experience in simulated community pharmacy, homecare or hospital pharmacy. In the classroom, students will learn the role and function of pharmacy technicians. The practical experience is in a simulated retail, homecare, or hospital pharmacy. Students will perform procedures and techniques that are assigned to pharmacy technicians.

Does this program have any special enrollment requirements?

English 93 or 94 or placement in English 96 and Math 840; successful completion of a course in Introduction to Computers; documentation that student can type 35 words per minute; and Anatomy 14 or equivalent knowledge of human anatomy.
