New President Elect

SWALLT is happy to announce that Felix Kronenberg of Pomona College has been elected SWALLT's new President Elect. The President Elect will take over as president after the end of the term of our current president, Gus Leonard.

Felix has just finished construction of Pomona's new Foreign Language Resource Center. (Watch the movie for details on construction and the final product.) There are more pictures of his new facility on the FLRC News Blog.

In addition to designing and monitoring completion of the new facility, he is responsible for some exciting work, including Language Technology Bootcamp, a program to train language residents at Pomona. Now, with grant funding, Felix has been able to expand the program to include other liberal arts colleges in the U.S. You can take a look at his Bootcamp Manual.

Felix gave an exciting presentation at SWALLT in October, 2007. Take a look at his list of resources for faculty to get just a small peek at his innovative approach to language teaching and learning.
