Mission Statement:

CalWORKs assists parents moving from welfare to work. The CalWORKs program provides education, training and support services, such as book and supply vouchers, transportation, childcare, assessment, counseling, and assistance with employment.

Program Outcomes

Our programs are on a regular cycle of review, during which outcomes are updated and revised. Program Outcomes are mapped to ILOs as shown below:

Orientation

  • By the end of the CalWORKs New Student Orientation, students will be able to clearly understand the requirements necessary to complete their CCSF educational goals as a CalWORKs student. (ILO I.2. Critical Thinking and Information  Competency: Locate, evaluate, synthesize, and appropriately use multiple forms of information; ILO II.1. Communication: Communicate effectively).

Work Study

  • By the end of the Work Study Orientation, students will be able to understand how to obtain and maintain employment at City College of San Francisco. (ILO I.2. Critical Thinking and Information  Competency: Locate, evaluate, synthesize, and appropriately use multiple forms of information; ILO II.1. Communication: Communicate effectively; ILO IV.1. Personal and Career Development: Identify and develop helpful resources and opportunities; ILO IV.2. Personal and Career Development: Demonstrate self-reflection and confidence).
