Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available to eligible CalWORKs students at the CCSF Financial Aid Office. Eligible CalWORKs student must complete an online FAFSA application each academic year of attendence. Applcation support is available in the Financial Aid Information Center in Cloud Hall, RM 331.

Types of Aid Available

Students may potentially receive a combination of the following awards for their financial aid package per academic year based on eligibility:  

Federal Pell Grant Range up to $602 - $5730
Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant Up to $200
Federal Work Study: Range up to $3000
Perkins Loan (Limited Range)
Federal Direct Loans (Limited Range)

California Residents Only: 

Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver covers tuition only 
Cal Grant up to $1500

CalWORKs Basic Skills Scholarship

The CalWORKs Basic Skills Scholarship is available to eligible CalWORKs each semester. The award amount may vary from $1,000-$2,000 and can be used to cover books, supplies, transportation, childcare and other college-related necessities. The award is paid over two or four semester at $500 each semester to students who continue to meet the eligibility requirements. 

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. Currently receving CalWORKs benefits.
  2. Maintain a minimum of nine credits.
  3. Complete at least one Basic Skills course.
  4. Be enrolled on one Basic Skills class each semester the award is given.
  5. Maintain a term and cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better
  6. Provide an educational plan

Please note, students may only participate in one of the following scholarship programs. The Mosaic Scholars Program, College Readiness Program or the CalWORKs Basic Skills Program.
