English as a Second Language
The Mission Center offers a full range of tuition-free English as a Second Language courses with continuous enrollment. These courses are designed for students whose first or native language is not English.
Students gain proficiency in English to find employment, to continue their education, and to function successfully in the culture of the United States. Survival skills are stressed in the first three levels of the program. Students sign up in the Admissions and Enrollment Office, room 110, for placement tests that determine the appropriate level of study.
The ESL Program offers Computer Lab classes that allow for independent practice of skills learned in class. In addition, Citizenship classes are regularly offered at the Mission Center.
