Open Educational Resources (OER)

Open Educational Resources

City College of San Francisco began its OER initiative late fall 2017.  At that time the Academic Senate voted to convene a taskforce to support faculty seeking to adopted open resources for instruction.  The Library is playing a strong role in supporting faculty as well.

Resources for Faculty

  • OER Subject Guide - created by Library faculty, this resource provides a starting place for those wanting to learn about the movement and to discover practical resources for implementing OER into curriculum.

  • Library faculty

    • Dayna Holz - OER Librarian.  Contact her if you would like assistance finding content for your class(es). She will work with you directly or connect you with a subject specialist.

    • Michele Alaniz- Distance Education Librarian. Michele can advise you on ways to integrate open content into the course shell for your class.  She also authored the OER Subject Guide and is interested in your feedback about it.

  • Professional Development Class - coming soon!!! - this class will be sponsored by the OER Taskforce & CCSF Library faculty.  It is a 2-week self-paced class that will help faculty get the tools and information they need to get started in OER.  Stay tuned for announcements about this class.
