Applicants applying to City College of San Francisco as an International Student must submit all required documents by post or in person.  Application submitted by e-mail and fax may be accepted; however, we request it in person or through post.

Applying for the Academic Program

Due to the high volume of applications received at this time, please allow at least 20 business days (4 weeks) for your application to be evaluated. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. For students in their home country, new applications submitted after the deadline (June 1st) will not be accepted.

 

Transfer students (already in the U.S.) may still apply after the deadline but it will take up to 30 business days (6 weeks) for the applications to be evaluated.

Applying for Conditional Admission Program

(This is for applicants who wish to apply for the Academic Program but have not obtained the required TOEFL/IELTS score. Applicants will first attend the Intensive English Program (IEP) to obtain the required TOEFL score)

(This is for applicants who wish to only learn English without any further educational goal at CCSF)

Applying for Concurrent Enrollment Program

(This program allows students currently studying at another school to take classes part time at CCSF while maintaining their full-time status at their current school.)

SPECIAL NOTE:  CCSF does not have the required permission for students from other states to take courses at CCSF. If you are at school in another state, you cannot take online courses concurrently at CCSF.

Deadline: At least 5 business days before semester begins

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. Concurrent Enrollment Authorization Letter from their current school
    • Letter must be on school letterhead
    • Your complete name that matches your I-20 and passport
    • SEVIS ID
    • Semester and year which you will attend CCSF
    • Verification of F-1 status and that you are currently enrolled in full-time program
    • Permission to enroll at CCSF as a part-time student
    • Signed by your school official
  3. Copy of biographical pages of your passport.

Students applying for concurrent enrollment do NOT pay an application fee.

 

(#1) Transferring to CCSF

An F-1 status student is eligible to transfer to CCSF if he/she is in valid F-1 status at the time of transfer.  Students must request a transfer of their SEVIS record to CCSF after being admitted.  Consult with International Student Advisors at both the old school and the new school to make sure the F-1 SEVIS record transfer is handled properly.

Please also submit the following if you are applying as a transfer student:

  • Copy of your F-1 visa (or Change of Status approval letter)
  • Copy of your I-94 (https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov, or a copy of the front & back side of your I-94 white card if it was issued to you at the U.S. port of entry)
  • Copies of ALL previous I-20's (page 1 & 2 only)

(#2) Bank Letter Requirements

For accounts outside the United States:

Must be both signed and stamped by the bank official

For accounts inside the United States

Account holder information and bank contact information must be included on any statements/letters

Requirements for ALL bank documentation

  • Must be dated within the last 6 months
  • Must list at least $23,950 US Dollars in cash, or equivalent to this amount in other currency (currency must be listed)
  • Must be in English or officially translated into English by a translation company with legal interpreter’s stamp ( you must then submit both original versions)
  • Please complete the International Student Financial Support Form and submit the notarized form with your application. Failure to do so will delay the application process

(#3) $50 Application Fee (& $75 Optional DHL Fee)

  • Application & DHL fees are non-refundable
  • It must accompany your completed application package in the form of “Money Order” or “Bank Cashier’s Check” made out to “City College of San Francisco
  • Please include a receipt if you paid through Flywire online payment option at https://www.flywire.com/pay/ccsf
  • Cash or personal bank check WILL NOT be accepted

(#4) Official High School or College/University Record

(#5) Official & Original TOEFL/IELTS Score Report

  • Applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of iBT 52, ITP 473, or IELTS score of 5.5
  • Copy of original score reports will be accepted; however, an original score report may be required at a future date.
