Applicants applying to City College of San Francisco as an International Student must submit all required documents by post, in person, or via email. 

If you wish to submit your application package by email, please email your complete application package to Tuan Uyeda, the Admissions Coordinator, at tmnguyen@ccsf.edu. All attached documentation must be included in one email.

Spring 2020 Applications

DEADLINES: 

NEW STUDENTS: The deadline for Spring 2020 applications will be October 31, 2019. 

TRANSFER STUDENTS: The deadline for Spring 2020 applications will be November 30, 2019 (transfer students already in the U.S. with an active I-20 and F-1 status).

    • Copy of high school diploma in English
    • Completed Legal Guardian Form

How to submit your documents:

Please submit your documents using only one of the following methods:

Option #1: E-mail

Send your documents via email to Tuan Uyeda, tmnguyen@ccsf.edu - please note that all required documents must be in the same email and in PDF format. 

Option #2: Postal mail/express mail

If you prefer to physically mail your application via postal/express mail, please mail your envelope to:

Option #3: In Person

If you wish to submit your documents in person, please come to Cloud 212 with your application during our office hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 9:30am to 1:30pm
Wednesday, Thursday: 11:30am to 4:30pm

for your application to be evaluated and

Fall 2020 Applications 

** Starting March 2, 2020 we will start accepting new Academic applications for the Fall 2020 semester **

Please do not submit your Fall 2020 application before March 2, 2020.

2. Applying for Conditional Admission Program

Documents required to apply:

(This is for applicants who wish to apply for the Academic Program but have not obtained the required TOEFL/IELTS score. Applicants will first attend the Intensive English Program (IEP) to obtain the required TOEFL score)

3. Applying for Intensive English Program

Documents required to apply:

(This is for applicants who wish to only learn English without any further educational goal at CCSF)

  2. Copy of your Passport (Bio-page)
  3. Official Bank Letter and Financial Support Form (see below)
  4. $50 Application Fee (see below) Not refundable
  5. For new students in their home country (mandatory): $75 DHL Delivery Service Fee to receive your I-20 (Excluding: North Korea, Syria, Cuba, & Iran) Not refundable
  6. Additional documents for transfer-in applicants (see below)
  7. If you are under 18 years old, please include the following:
    • Completed Legal Guardian Form

4. Applying for Concurrent Enrollment Program

(This program allows students currently studying at another school to take classes part time at CCSF while maintaining their full-time status at their current school.)

To apply as a concurrent student, please scan and email the following documents to international@ccsf.edu:

  1. Concurrent Application Form (click here) - Please complete all highlighted parts of the form.
  2. Copy of your passport
  3. An official letter signed by the Designated School Official (DSO) at your current institution, authorizing you to take classes at CCSF as a concurrent student. The letter must indicate your full name and the semester for which the authorization is valid.

Please note that concurrent students must re-apply every semester. 

Your application will be processed within 2 weeks (10 business days). You will receive an email with your CCSF student ID number and instructions to register for classes. 

SPECIAL NOTE:  CCSF does not have the required permission for students from other states to take courses at CCSF. If you are at school in another state, you cannot take online courses concurrently at CCSF.

Students applying for concurrent enrollment do not pay an application fee.

Transferring to CCSF

An F-1 status student is eligible to transfer to CCSF if he/she is in valid F-1 status at the time of transfer.  Students must request a transfer of their SEVIS record to CCSF after being admitted.  Consult with International Student Advisors at both the old school and the new school to make sure the F-1 SEVIS record transfer is handled properly.

Please also submit the following if you are applying as a transfer student:

  • Copy of your F-1 visa (or Change of Status approval letter)
  • Copy of your I-94 (https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov, or a copy of the front & back side of your I-94 white card if it was issued to you at the U.S. port of entry)
  • Copies of all previous I-20's (page 1 & 2 only)

Bank Statement/Letter Requirements

For accounts outside the United States:

Must be signed or stamped by the bank official

For accounts inside the United States:

Account holder information and bank contact information must be included on any official statements/letters

Requirements for all bank documentation

  • Must be dated within the last 6 months
  • Must list at least $23,950 US Dollars in cash (liquid assets), or equivalent to this amount in other currency (currency must be listed)
  • Must be in English or officially translated into English by a translation company with legal interpreter’s stamp (you must then submit a copy of both versions)
  • Please complete the International Student Financial Support Form and submit the notarized form with your application. Failure to do so will delay the application process

$50 Application Fee & $75 DHL Fee

  • Application & DHL fees are non-refundable
  • It must accompany your completed application package in the form of “Money Order” or “Bank Cashier’s Check” made out to “City College of San Francisco
  • Please include a receipt if you paid through Flywire online payment option at https://www.flywire.com/pay/ccsf
  • Cash or personal bank check will not be accepted

Please note: If your visa is denied you will not be able to have any application or DHL fee refunded.

Official High School or College/University Transcript

  • Transcript must show what classes the applicant took and what grades/marks the applicant received
  • Transcript must be in English or officially translated into English by a translation company with a legal interpreter’s stamp. You must then submit a copy of both versions.

Official TOEFL/IELTS Score Report

  • Applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of iBT 56, ITP 483, or IELTS score of 5.5
  • Copies of score reports will be accepted
