Perkins Funding News

The Office of Career & Technical Education announces the release of the 2016-17 Applications for Perkins funds. Below find the updated RFP, Department and Collaborative applications, and more:


The Perkins 2016-2017 Request for Proposals and application forms issued January 26, 2016 have been amended to include the following eligibility requirement:

“CTE programs are required to hold advisory committee meetings at least once every academic year, and City College has adopted a process for programs to document and report on those meetings.  

Complying with all Title 5, Ed. Code, and accreditation requirements for CTE programs is an eligibility requirement for receiving Perkins funds.  Those programs that have not held an advisory committee meeting during the 2015-16 academic year, and/or have not submitted the CCSF forms that include an advisory roster and minutes (to include meeting date, attendees, and outcomes of the meeting) are ineligible for 2016-17 Perkins funds.

This eligibility requirement has always existed, but has not been explicitly stated in our RFP or proposal forms. Remember that Perkins can pay for refreshments for your meetings.  

2016-17 Allocation Schedule: 

  • RFP issued on January 26, 2016
  • Collaborative and Department applications due: Tuesday March 15, 2016
  • Applications reviewed by Allocation Subcommittee: Friday April 15, 2016
  • Award letters released: May 16, 2016
