Monday Night Beginning Drawing Workshop with Erik Parra

Register Now

Drawing is the foundation on which all visual arts are built. It’s ubiquity and flexibility make it the most accessible and versatile tool for exploring and expressing creative ideas. It is the most direct link between thought and expression. This workshop is designed for beginning students with absolutely no experience or as a refresher for students with some previous experience. Students will be introduced to fundamental drawing techniques, methods and materials with an eye toward rendering realistic drawings from observation. This workshop will expand your understanding of line, gesture, volume, perspective and composition so you can accurately and artistically put your creative ideas into concrete form. Emphasis is on the exploration of space and form in varied subject matters and the ability to order and translate 3-dimensional objects into 2-dimensional drawings. This workshop will develop your perceptual awareness, technical range and artistic vision.
