Long Poses: Opportunities for Exploration
This 6 hour workshop will begin with short “warm-up” poses and then move on to 20 minute and longer poses. Over the course of the workshop, the lengths of poses will increase ending in a several-hour pose allowing for exploration and/or experimentation. Artists are encouraged to use these increasingly longer poses to try new methods or mediums, to develop the drawing or painting surface, or to create multiple poses in one drawing or painting.
Instruction in drawing or painting from the figure will be offered, and some basic painting and drawing supplies will be provided. This will allow students to try a different approach to working from the figure, without a huge investment in supplies! Students should provide their own substrates (papers or painting surfaces), and specific drawing or painting supplies as individually desired. All levels are welcome, as are students wishing to work in a traditional method!
There will be a $15-$20 model fee, dependent on enrollment numbers, and payable to instructor on the day of the workshop. Only water based wet-media please.
