Learn a New Language. Open Up a New World.

The World Languages and Cultures Department offers a full schedule of courses in eight languages: American Sign Language (AMSL), Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. Students may complete an Associate of Arts degree (AA), an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) or a Certificate of Achievement in many languages. Please see the individual language pages for details. All classes are transferable to the California State University system and most are transferable to the University of California system.

Those interested in taking Pilipino, please visit the Philippine Studies webpage.

Our instructors are experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated to helping you learn a language and gain cultural competency. Our students come from all walks of life and represent many age groups; high school students, working adults, veterans, retired professionals, and college students with the goal of transferring to a 4-year institution. You will be welcomed in our classes!

Classes are offered day, evening, and Saturdays at several CCSF locations.
