Accreditation ensures the quality of education is met at City College of San Francisco.  The Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) works with college-wide staff and the ACCJC Commission on all matters related to institutional accreditation.  City College of San Francisco is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, 331 J Street, Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95814, (415) 506-0234. ACCJC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) as a reliable authority regarding the quality of education offered by the institutions it accredits in keeping with the Higher Education Act of 1965.  ACCJC is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), which has established criteria that define a quality review system for accrediting agencies.

Adult Education offers a range of classes to help you gain the skills to improve your life. City College of San Francisco receives Adult Education Block Grant funding from the State of California through its membership in the San Francisco Adult Education Consortium.  The Consortium goals are to improve adult education programs and services in San Francisco by integrating existing programs and creating seamless transitions into post-secondary education or the workforce; accelerating students' progress toward academic or career goals; and developing the capacity to deliver high-quality instruction and student services.

Community Development collaborates with the Foundation of City College of San Francisco to identify, cultivate, and assist in the solicitation of individuals, corporations, and foundations for annual and long-term financial support of College programs and projects determined to be priority areas of need.

Grants and Resource Development encompasses all phases of proposal development, grant implementation, and award management. We notify faculty and staff about grant opportunities and assist in the planning of projects and programs. Our office also submits Board Resolutions and Information Only Items (FIO's) directly related to contract and grant-funded activities.

Re-imagining the Student Experience (RiSE) is CCSF's responses to guided pathways.  RiSE focuses on closing the student equity and opportunity gaps through transformational change on improving the student experience of the college at every step by finding creative solutions to systemic issues that prove to create barriers for students.

Workforce Development works closely with Student Development to support students' successful career development.  Partners include the City and County of San Francisco community, the SF Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD), regional community-based organizations, employers, industry associations, labor unions, regional community colleges, and like-minded partners pursuing strategies which connect adults to high-demand, high-wage, high-skilled employment in the California economy.
