The Class Schedule

UNDERSTANDING THE CLASS SCHEDULE

THE CLASS SCHEDULE IS PUBLISHED THREE TIMES A YEAR (Fall, Spring, Summer semesters). It is also available online at www.ccsf.edu/Schedule.

It contains the following information:

1. The course number: e.g., ENGL 90.

2. The CRN number: You will use this five digit number to register in the right section of the courses you choose.

3. The days and times the class is taught: There may be two or three listings for one CRN number. You need to attend all times.
NOTE: You are given time to get from one class to the next so you may schedule "back to back"; for instance, one class can end at 10 a.m. and the other can begin at 10 a.m.

4. The location of the class: Classes with addresses are not on the main campus. Do not sign up for those sections unless you truly plan to attend there.

5. The instructor's name; classes with the listing STAFF do not yet have an instructor assigned.

IN ADDITION, THE SCHEDULE CONTAINS

  • The academic calendar: Pay attention to add/drop dates and to holidays; flex days are days when faculty need to attend but you don't!
  • Final exam schedule: Your final exams may not be given at the same time as you have been attending class all semester. Once you have your schedule, check when your finals are given and write the day and time on your calendar at home.
  • Departmental phone numbers: Useful for calling and leaving a message for Instructions on how to register for classes by phone or web
  • Student support information about Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS), Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS), the Learning Assistance Center, the Family Resource Center, Latina Services, and many other services that are here for you!
