NOTIFICATION OF PROBATION AND DISMISSAL

Probation:
Students who have been placed on academic or progress probation shall have Academic Probation or Progress Probation or both printed on their permanent records. These notations, once placed, may not be removed.

Dismissal:
A student who has been on probation may be academically dismissed if the student has been on either academic probation or on progress probation or on both academic progress and progress probation for more than three consecutive semesters. Students who have been dismissed shall have "Dismissal" printed on their permanent records. This notation, once placed, may not be removed.

Students may contact general counseling or EOPS so that they may be provided individual counseling and guidance on how to improve their academic standing.

Appeals of Dismissal
Students may petition for reinstatement in cases of unusual and verified circumstances. The request shall be directed to the Dean of Students.

Readmission will be conditional upon a review of performance at the end of each semester with readmitted students being subject to the continued requirements of the probation and dismissal regulations.
