GROUNDS FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION

The Catalog contains the "Rules of Student Conduct" and you should consult it for a listing of the rules. Violation of the rules could result in disciplinary action being taken. A partial listing includes the following categories:

  1. academic or intellectual dishonesty, such as cheating or plagiarism. Cheating is defined as taking an examination in a dishonest way, such as by having improper access to answers. Plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized use of the language and thoughts of another author and representing them as you own;
  2. dishonesty, such as knowingly furnishing false information to the College, or forgery, alteration or misuse of college documents, records, or identification;
  3. threatening or abusing any person on college-owned or controlled property or at College-sponsored or supervised functions;
  4. conduct that threatens the health or safety of any person;
  5. theft of or damage to property which belongs to the College or to any member of the College community, including college visitors;
  6. unauthorized entry or use of college facilities, supplies, or equipment;
  7. violation of college policies or campus regulations, including the "Sexual Harassment Policy" or the "Computer Usage Policy"
  8. use, possession, sale, distribution or presence on District premises while under the influence of narcotics, dangerous drugs or other controlled substances, or alcoholic beverages;
  9. disorderly conduct or lewd, indecent, or obscene conduct or expression on college-owned or controlled property, or at college-sponsored or supervised functions;
  10. possession of weapons that can be used as a threat or to do bodily harm;
  11. failing to comply with the directions of college officials acting in the performance of their duties.
