NEW STUDENT COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Are you new to City College of San Francisco? Work with counselors in this department to develop your first educational plan and learn more about the programs and services of the College. New Student Counseling helps students entering the College develop an educational plan and access essential support services as they begin their studies. New Student Counseling hours are Monday - Thursday 8 a.m.- 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.

CONTINUING STUDENT COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Continuing Student (CS) counselors address the needs of continuing credit students who have completed at least 12 units. Work with CS counselors to discuss your goals and create or revise your educational plan. Discuss requirements for a certificate, a degree or transfer to a 4-year institution. CS counselors make referrals to helpful support services, and provide specialized workshops including major requirements, transfer planning, probation, and internet resources. Computers are available for student use in Cloud 207 and Arts 201.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND PLACEMENT CENTER (CDPC)

Are you unsure of your career goal? Do you want more information about occupations related to your chosen field of study? Work with career counselors at CDPC on career assessment, career planning, choosing a major, job resources, employment information, and workshops/classes for your professional future. Services are available Monday and Thursday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 8 a.m.- 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Reach these counselors at 239-3117 in Science Hall, room 127.

TRANSFER COUNSELING

Do you want to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program? Transfer Student Counseling helps students explore baccalaureate colleges and universities, identify transfer requirements, and make connections with university representatives. Transfer Student Counseling hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Special programs and services include the Transfer Day College Fair in October, campus tours of the Bay Area and southern California colleges, and transfer admission guarantees with eight public and private universities. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

Are you an International Student with an F-1 visa? Do you need help with your educational plan? Do you have other questions? International Students Counselors focus on the needs of F-1 visa students at the College. They help to clarify college and INS requirements, refine educational, career, and personal goals, and access essential support services. Counselors are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4.p.m. Contact these counselors at (415) 239-3942 in Cloud Hall, Room 212.

AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOLASTIC PROGRAMS (AASP)

Are you looking for a support program tailored to the specific needs of African Americans and other under represented students? This program provides counseling, mentoring and instruction; cultural activities and college tours as well as a computer lab. Contact AASP counselors and the Director of AASP, Dr. Henry Augustine, at 452-5315 in Bungalow 500.

LATINA/O SERVICES NETWORK

Are you looking for a support program tailored to the specific needs of Latinos and other under represented students? The Latino Services Network (LSN) provides students with bilingual (Spanish) and bicultural programs, counseling services, classes with tutorial support and a computer lab. Services include bilingual college orientation, assistance with financial aid, academic career counseling, referrals to campus and community services, bilingual support groups, and per advisors. Contact LSN counselors and the Director, Mr. Ted Alfaro, at (415) 452-5336 in Cloud Hall, Room 365. LSN hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
